Backup and Restore

To ensure your chat history and data can be recovered even when switching devices or in case of accidental data loss, we recommend using the manual encrypted backup feature.

How to Create a Backup

1. Navigate to Settings > Data & Storage > Backup & Restore.
2. Set Backup Path: Choose a secure location on your device to save the backup file.
3. Set Password: Create a strong password for your backup. This password will be required to restore your data.
4. Click Start Backup to generate the encrypted backup file.

How to Restore from a Backup

1. Transfer File: Move the generated backup file from your old device to your new device (or PC).
2. Navigate to Settings > Data & Storage > Backup & Restore on the new device.
3. Select Import File and choose the backup file you transferred.
4. Enter Password: Provide the password you set when creating the backup.
5. Confirm to begin the restoration process.

Important

Please keep your backup password safe. If you lose the password, you will not be able to restore your data from the backup file, as the content is encrypted.
